The trial took place in Milwaukee County before Judge Yamahiro. The total verdict amounted to $377,551.24, which far exceeded the last settlement offer. The jury verdict also far exceeded the amount that the defense attorneys requested the jury to award by hundreds of thousands of dollars. The case primarily involved a ligament injury in the non-dominant wrist that required cortisone injections. The defense-hired doctor argued that her injury was not permanent and any issues from it lasted only a few months. The trial was brief, lasting less than 1.5 days, and the jury deliberated for about two hours before returning with their verdict.
