Attorney Alyssa Armbrust was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. After graduating from Kettle Moraine High School in 2008, she attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison and graduated with honors in just three and half years with a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a Certificate in European Studies.
Attorney Armbrust also attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison for Law School where she worked in various clinical programs. She began working with inmates at Oxford Federal Prison, assisting in an Oral Argument before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and filing a Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court. She then went on to intern for the Chief Judge in the Wisconsin State of Appeals, the Western District of the US Attorney’s Office, and the Federal Defender Services of Wisconsin. After graduating law school a semester early, Attorney Armbrust briefly worked as a law clerk in a personal injury firm in Madison before becoming an Assistant State Public Defender in Washington County, Wisconsin.
While at the Public Defenders Office for four years, Attorney Armbrust quickly gained a great deal of courtroom and litigation experience, taking several felony cases trial and obtaining acquittals for her clients in some significant cases.
Attorney Armbrust remains an active board member of the Washington County Bar Association and was named to Washington County’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2017.
Outside of work, Attorney Armbrust enjoys training and racing in triathlons and various running events. She has completed four marathons, several Half Ironmans, and Ironman Wisconsin in 2017. She also continues to play intramural soccer and any other athletic opportunity that comes her way. Her passion and competitive drive is evident both in and outside the courtroom.
