Biography

Attorney Knobloch was born and raised in Peoria, IL, the middle child of a blue collar family. He did his undergraduate studies at Illinois Central College where he played baseball, and at Illinois State University where he majored in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Soon after graduation, he worked as a clerk at one of the largest downstate insurance defense firms in Illinois. It was during this experience that two distinct passions were born: the study of law and the dedication to represent working class individuals rather than big business and the insurance industry.

Attorney Knobloch attended Law School at the Marquette University. While at Marquette, he tailored his coursework to achieve the best possible preparation for a career in litigation. Attorney Knobloch participated in the school-wide Moot Court Competition, volunteered at Legal Aid Society and also taught a high school level Street Law class in the nationally renowned Street Law Program. He also completed numerous internships during law school, including an internship with the late Honorable Ted Wedemeyer of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District 1.

Attorney Knobloch has devoted his entire legal career to representing injured plaintiffs throughout the State of Wisconsin and Illinois. Prior to joining Gruber Law Offices, he spent years working with some of the most distinguished plaintiff’s trial attorneys in Wisconsin history. This is when Attorney Knobloch first developed his passion and acumen for the courtroom. He has taken many cases to verdict, both to a jury and the bench, which has resulted in outstanding recoveries for his clients. He has tried over 30 personal injury trials to jury. In addition, Attorney Knobloch has successfully resolved hundreds of personal injury cases.

Attorney Knobloch primarily handles catastrophic and serious injury cases involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries or other life-changing, permanent injuries. His focus involves trucking, automobile, motorcycle accidents; wrongful death, premises liabilities; and other general negligence matters. He is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association; Illinois Bar Association; Milwaukee Bar Association; Wisconsin Association for Justice; and is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and Illinois.

Eric concentrates a significant portion of his practice on catastrophic injuries sustained in semi-truck crashes. His experience successfully taking on some of the largest trucking companies in the nation makes him uniquely qualified to investigate semi-truck cases and recover maximum compensation, no matter the defendant trucking company or jurisdiction. In fact, as of his Certification in January 2022, Attorney Eric Knobloch is the only attorney in the entire State of Wisconsin Board Certified in Trucking Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

In order to achieve board certification in Truck Accident Law, lawyers undergo a rigorous and detailed vetting process. Attorneys must demonstrate hands-on experience handling various types of truck crash cases. The process also includes submission of judicial and peer references to attest to competency. Lawyers must also devote a substantial percentage of their cases to trucking litigation. In addition to many other requirements, Truck Accident Law Board Certification also requires that skill and knowledge are tested through a comprehensive examination. Certification requires passing a comprehensive written examination as part of a six-hour examination.

Eric takes pride in knowing his work in this area not only helps put lives back together, but also contributes to making the roadways safer for those in the future. Attorney Knobloch is an active member of The Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. He is proud that he helps make a significant difference in the lives of his clients and our communities. Attorney Knobloch has been involved in a recent 8 figure settlement against a trucking company, as well as numerous 7 figure verdicts and settlements against trucking companies.

In addition to working at Gruber Law Offices, Attorney Knobloch is active in the legal community and frequently lectures and writes for the Wisconsin Association for Justice, a statewide association dedicated to helping injured individuals. He currently serves as a member of the WAJ Board of Directors and is proud to have been a member of the organization for his entire legal career. He also volunteers with the Milwaukee Bar Association with its community outreach programs.

His substantial achievements have not gone unnoticed in the legal community. Attorney Knobloch has won numerous prestigious awards over the course of his career. He has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the “Top 40 Under 40.” In the past, he has been named by Wisconsin Law Journal as an “Up and Coming Lawyer.” Additionally, he has been named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer ten times (every year since 2011) for their Rising Stars designation.

Additionally, in the past, Attorney Eric Knobloch was honored as The Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer of the year by the Wisconsin Association for Justice. This is an award covering the entire state of Wisconsin. Only one lawyer per annual year is given this honor. Attorney Knobloch is regarded for his skill at and willingness to try cases in the courtroom. This particular award recognizes a trial lawyer who has exhibited exceptional dedication to their craft as well as furthering WAJ’s mission of protecting access to the courts. Attorney Knobloch has had tremendous success in and out of courtroom, achieving a multitude of very substantial verdicts and settlements throughout his career.
